I made this recipe and the cookies really good. A food processor is very handy for grinding the oatmeal and chopping the chocolate and nuts. And I recommend refrigerating the dough before you bake them. And halving the recipe.

This poor woman bought the recipe without knowing that when the waitress said  “Two Fifty” she didn’t mean $2.50.
She called Neimans to return it, but they refused to give her a refund because she had already seen the recipe.  Even though she threatened to sue, they wouldn’t budge.
That’s enough for me to want to spread the recipe around, so I’m going to believe this is the real deal. (Plus, the reader has emailed me before).

2 cups butter24 oz. Chocolate chips4 cups flour2 cups brown sugar2 tsp. Soda1 tsp. Salt2 cups sugar1 8 oz Hershey Bar (grated)5 cups blended oatmeal4 eggs2 tsp. Baking powder2 tsp. Vanilla3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda . Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie Sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375degrees .Makes 112 cookies.
